My fellow Detrash Hikers,
You may have seen Eike and Emma’s note in the previous email saying that they would be taking a break for the summer, but this group is going to keep meeting! If I haven’t met you yet, my name is David Bullock, and I’m going to be one of your liaisons of litter organizers for the summer.
Some good and bad news up front:
The bad: It’s supposed to storm tomorrow, and I know that I’m quite late getting this out to everyone, so I can’t keep to the usual “first Saturday” schedule this time.
The good: I still want to see everyone, and I want you to tell me what you want to see this summer. I can’t thank Emma and Eike enough for everything that they’ve done here - they run a tight ship, so I don’t expect any major changes, but I also think that this is a great opportunity to try things out if there have been things that you’ve wanted to happen. So please, help me help you make this a fun summer.
Let’s grab lunch this Sunday (May 5th) at The Works.
We’ll meet at 11:30 AM at the entrance to the food hall (around the “Chattahoochee Food Hall” sign at 204 Chattahoochee Row NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. There is a large parking deck on the far side of the main buildings, just past Fox Bros and Scofflaw, which I intend to park in.
I’d recommend NOT bringing the usual hiking necessities (water, snacks, layers, etc.) as well as a trash picker, thick gloves, sunscreen (maybe bug spray), and trash bags.

I’d highly recommend joining the Discord if you aren’t able to make it on Sunday and have suggestions. I’m going to be using that as the primary source for conversation and updates between these email newsletters.
